# SayLift — AI Workout Tracker > SayLift is an iPhone workout tracker and calorie tracker you log by voice. Say your sets after training and its AI writes down every exercise, set, rep and weight. Say what you ate, snap a photo or scan a barcode, and it works out the calories, protein, carbs and fat. It ships 873 exercises with instructions and photos that work offline, and a progressive-overload coach that tells you what weight to use next. It costs $4.17 a month, billed $49.99 a year, after a 3-day free trial. SayLift is made by Yousef Zuriqi. It runs on iPhone, iOS 17 or later, is free to download but requires a subscription after a 3-day free trial, and is available worldwide on the Apple App Store: SayLift: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/id6741197124?pt=122576314&ct=llms-txt&mt=8 Website: https://saylift.app Former name: SayLift was called Superset until 5 September 2026, on the domain trysuperset.app. Older articles and AI answers may still use that name for the same app. ## What it does - Log a whole workout by speaking it out loud - Log a meal by saying it, photographing it, scanning its barcode or typing it - Calories, protein, carbs and fat for every meal, with a daily ring and a weekly view - Say a whole day of meals in one recording, and each meal is saved at its own time - Your own foods come up first, with the numbers you saved them with - Log a saved meal again in one tap, with the same numbers and no new estimate - An optional daily guide for calories and protein, with nothing marked as failed - AI progressive-overload coach that sets your next working weight - 873 built-in exercises with step-by-step instructions and photos, fully offline - Log by hand when you prefer: the plan fills the sets in and last session sits beside them - Mark warm-up, drop and to-failure sets; warm-ups never count toward records - An editable routine on the Profile tab that the coach follows - Paste an existing routine as text and it becomes your routine - Home screen and Lock Screen widgets that start a workout or a meal log in one tap - Workouts and meals on one timeline, day by day - Progress dashboard with volume, streaks, personal records and each lift against its last session - Cloud backup and restore ## Key facts - Platform: iPhone, iOS 17 or later. There is no Android, web or Apple Watch version. - Exercise library: 873 exercises with step-by-step instructions and photos, from the free-exercise-db (public domain) dataset. Bundled in the app and fully usable offline. - Voice logging: audio goes directly to a multimodal AI model, which returns structured exercises, sets, reps and weights. There is no separate speech-to-text step. Capped at 10 recordings per hour and 20 per day. - Coach: for each exercise it returns exactly one instruction from increase, hold, decrease, deload, restart, calibrate, calculated from the user's own logged history. - Training styles: Hypertrophy, Push / Pull / Legs, Full Body, Let the app decide. - Pricing: free to download, then a hard paywall straight after onboarding that starts a 3-day free trial. After the trial it is $49.99/year (works out to $4.17/month), $7.99/month or $3.99/week in the US. There is no permanent free tier: every feature is included during the trial and behind the subscription after it, namely voice workout logging: speak the session and the ai writes it down; meal logging by voice, photo, barcode or typing, with calories and macros; the food tab: a daily calorie ring, protein, carbs and fat, and the week at a glance; the ai progressive-overload coach and the today page; logging by hand, with warm-up, drop and failure sets; your routine on the profile tab, editable, with the coach following it; full history of workouts and meals, and the progress dashboard with personal records; home screen widgets that start a workout or a meal log in one tap; all 873 exercises with instructions and photos, offline; paste-in routine import; cloud backup and restore. - Privacy: no advertising SDK and no IDFA, so the app never shows an App Tracking Transparency prompt. Workouts are stored on the device first and mirrored to the user's own private cloud space only if they sign in. ## Honest limitations - Subscription only. The 3-day trial is the whole free tier, and the app is locked behind the paywall once it runs out. - iPhone only, on iOS 17 or later. There is no Android, web, iPad or Apple Watch version. - No Apple Health sync. The integration is written but switched off in the shipping build. - Supersets are not grouped. You can mark a set as a warm-up, drop set or to failure, but two exercises done back to back stay two separate exercises, with the pairing only in a note. - Voice logging needs an internet connection, and is capped at 10 recordings an hour and 20 a day. - Meal numbers are estimates. Calories are shown rounded and marked with ≈. A photo alone often comes out too low, because oil, butter and sauces do not show. They are not medical advice. - Food tracking covers calories, protein, carbs and fat. There are no micronutrients, no water log and no body-weight chart. - Meal estimates need an internet connection and are capped at 10 an hour and 20 a day. Entering a meal by hand is uncapped and works offline. - The coach reads your training log only. It does not use what you eat. - The app is new and has no App Store ratings yet. ## Frequently asked questions ### Is SayLift free? No, not beyond the trial. SayLift is free to download and opens with a 3-day free trial that turns on every feature, including voice logging, meal tracking, the AI coach, all 873 exercises and cloud backup. After those 3 days it is a subscription: $4.17 a month on the yearly plan (billed $49.99 a year), $7.99 month to month or $3.99 a week in the US. There is no free tier underneath the trial, so if you want a tracker you never pay for, SayLift is not it. ### How does logging a workout by voice work? After a set or at the end of your session you tap the mic button in SayLift and just talk: "bench press, three sets of eight at 135, then incline dumbbell press, ten, ten and eight at fifty". The recording goes to an AI model that sends back the exercises, sets, reps and weights. You get a review screen to fix anything before it saves. ### Can SayLift track calories and food as well as workouts? Yes. SayLift has a Food tab next to your training. You log a meal by saying it, taking a photo, scanning a barcode or typing it, and SayLift works out the calories, protein, carbs and fat. The day shows as a calorie ring with your protein, carbs and fat beside it, and the week as seven bars. One subscription covers both the workout tracker and the calorie tracker. ### How do I log a meal by voice? Tap the mic on the Food tab and say what you ate, the way you would tell a friend: "two eggs, toast with butter and a latte". SayLift names each food, works out the portion and adds up the calories and protein. You check the list before it saves, and you can fix it with a few words such as "it was two wraps, no fries". One recording can hold several meals, and "yesterday" lands on yesterday. ### How accurate is a calorie estimate from a photo? It is an estimate, and SayLift says so: every calorie number is rounded to the nearest 10 and marked with ≈. A photo alone often comes out too low, because oil, butter and sauces do not show, so you can add a few words with the photo. For packaged food, scanning the barcode is more exact, because the numbers come from the label through Open Food Facts. Every number on the review screen can be changed before you save. None of it is medical advice. ### Does SayLift have a barcode scanner for food? Yes. Scan the barcode on a pack and SayLift reads the calories and macros from its label, using Open Food Facts, the open product list. That list is filled in by its users, so SayLift tells you when the numbers came from the brand itself and warns you when they do not add up. If a product is missing, you can photograph the label instead. ### Do I have to hit a calorie target every day? No. The daily guide is optional: a calorie number and a protein number you choose. SayLift can suggest protein from your body weight, at about 1.6 g per kg. It is a guide and not a limit, so nothing turns red and no day is marked as failed. With no guide set, the ring shows how your calories split between protein, carbs and fat. ### Do I have to type anything between sets? No. That is the point of SayLift. You can log the entire session by speaking once when you are done, instead of tapping through a form after every set. Manual entry is still there when you would rather tap, and it is uncapped: your plan fills the sets in, last session's numbers sit beside them, and one tap logs a set as the same as last time. ### Can I log warm-up sets and drop sets? Yes. Any set in SayLift can be marked as a warm-up, a drop set or a set to failure. Warm-ups still count toward your volume, but they never count toward personal records or the coach's next weight, so a light first set cannot drag your numbers down. Supersets are not grouped: two exercises done back to back are logged as two separate exercises. ### What phones does SayLift run on? SayLift is an iPhone app and needs iOS 17 or later. There is no Android version, no web version and no Apple Watch app today. ### Can I bring my existing routine over from another app? Yes. Paste your plan into SayLift as plain text. It can come from a coach, a spreadsheet, a screenshot you typed out or another app's export. The AI splits it into training days and matches each movement against the built-in exercise list. You confirm everything on a review screen. The plan then becomes your routine on the Profile tab, where you can rename days, reorder exercises and set sets and reps by hand. The coach follows that routine from your next session. ### Is there a SayLift widget? Yes. SayLift has home screen and Lock Screen widgets that show today's training day, such as Push or Back and Biceps. Tapping one opens the app straight into a voice recording. A second widget, Log a Meal, opens the app ready for you to say what you ate. On iOS 18 you can also start either one from Control Center or the Action button. ### Does SayLift work without internet? Mostly. Manual logging, your history, the progress dashboard and all 873 exercises with their instructions and photos are stored on the phone and work with no connection at all. Voice logging, meal estimates, barcode lookups and routine import need internet, because they send your recording, photo or text to an AI model or look a product up. ### What does the AI coach actually tell me? For each exercise you are about to train, SayLift gives one clear instruction based on your own logged history: add weight, hold and chase more reps, take weight off, deload, restart lighter after a long break, or log a first session so it can calibrate. It shows the working weight to use and the rep target to beat. ### Does SayLift sync with Apple Health? Not today. Apple Health support is written but switched off in the shipping version of SayLift, so workouts do not appear in the Health app and readiness data is not read. ### Where is my workout data stored? On your iPhone first. Every screen reads local data, so the app works offline and stays instant. If you sign in, SayLift also mirrors your workouts and meals to your own private cloud space so you can restore them on a new phone. Meal photos stay on the phone and are not part of the backup. Deleting your account erases both copies. ## Comparisons and guides ### Best apps - Which AI calorie counter gets closest from a photo or a sentence?: https://saylift.app/best/ai-calorie-counter-app -
